If you haven't already heard of it, you will! That is, UNLESS you happen to live the life of a hermit, ostrich, or other such creature completely out of touch with any media outlet. The DaVinci Code releases in theaters all over the world on May 19.

With Ron Howard (good old "Richie" from Happy Days!) directing and Tom Hanks starring, it's sure to be a blockbuster. Let alone that the novel of the same name that serves as the basis of the movie has set incredible literary records. Printed in 44 languages and over 40 million copies sold!

Blockbusters come and blockbusters go, but there's something different about this one, and we'll be talking about it throughout the month of May on Sunday mornings. I will not be recommending that anyone either see it or NOT see it. I AM recommending that you be aware of what the buzz is all about and how it may impact the your spiritual life and the spiritual quest of the people you know.

While our "Stewardship of Your Life" series is on hold as we address this media phenomenon and its implications, I do want to let you know here what's ahead for our stewardship series so that you can begin now to prepare your heart. When we re-enter the series right at or after Memorial Day weekend, we will pick up steam towards Father's Day.

As we dive deeper into the stewardship of our treasure, I am excited to share with you the latest direction of our Sanctuary expansion! God has been working and directing some things behind the scenes that are still being clarified as I write this.

I am confident that by the end of May, our clarity will be upon us and we will be ready to move forward with our next phase of giving and then actual building, still planned to happen this year!

I am asking all who call NewHeart their home church to begin now to ask the Lord how you and your family are to financially participate in a fresh two-year commitment to give over and above our normal tithe and offering to see our Sanctuary, handicap-accessible restrooms and new entryway completed.

On Father's Day (June 18), we will be thrust this two-year commitment forward with a special "Building A Blessing" Launch Offering. Would you please prayerfully consider how we can each bring the largest offering we can bring to our Heavenly Father on Father's Day?

We will also each bring to that offering a Commitment Card (you'll receive one soon, along with some creative ideas for the Launch Offering) detailing how you believe your family is to respond to the two-year commitment to see this project finally accomplished.

Wonder and anticipation about where we're headed is high, and that's a good thing! Let's continue to turn that wonder and anticipation into prayer power, asking God to give our leadership wisdom in decisions, for city processes to be favorable, and for the finances to flow in good order for our present and future needs.
